Phones and voicemail must be attended to, but professionals answer direct lines, so call load is light. Verbal and written communication must be clear and professional since you will be writing emails frequently and letters occasionally which must be correct grammatically and well phrased. Nacel Open Door, a non-profit exchange organization with history in exchange since 1959, is seeking applicants to coordinate ESL/Activity programs for students from China beginning mid-January for duration of 10 days to 2 weeks. The group may be placed in ANY local community in the area. The group size is 4-12 students and one chaperone. The position requires people with good networking, communication and organization skills to coordinate them. The responsibilities include; locating families to host the students, either 1-2 per home, teaching ESL for 3 hours a day, 4 days per week, (curriculum provided) and accompanying students on local field trips daily. One day per week is spent on a full day excursion to a major place of interest. Because the students spend evenings and weekends with their host families, the local coordinator is free on most weekends. In addition to the coordinator’s compensation, an expense budget is provided to be used for entrance fees, gas, food and other expenses associated with the program. Compensation for this contracted position $200 per student.
